Cards: Plane & Simple for men

It’s about time I shared the cards we made in this month’s cardmaking class (ok.. it’s a bit late if I’m honest.. but here we go)..

We made three cards using the Plane & Simple stamp set from the Mini Catalogue.. one of them was my own design and two were inspired by swaps received recently from fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

Plane & Simple - my design

The card follows a similar layout to the Notably Ornate card I made recently. Lots of distressing on this one… tearing and crumpling of cardstock… sponge daubing with Tea Stain distress ink.. splattering with the Color Spritzer Tool… roughing up the edges with the 7-sided distressing tool. All good fun!

Plane and Simple - inspired by Jackie Hall

This card was totally inspired by a card received from Jackie Hall in a swap. My version uses Newsprint Designer Series Paper and the colour scheme is Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard and Baja Breeze. I love the texture given by the Square Lattice embossing folder on the Baja Breeze piece.. and the Spiral punch on the edge!

Plane and Simple - Card 3

Again this one was inspired by a fellow Demo’s swap card which unforunately had no name on the back.. if anyone recognises it please feel free to let me know so I can credit the original designer! In the cardmaking class, I decided to change the Crumb Cake to Baja Breeze to match the colour scheme of the other two cards.. makes it brighter I think!

Supplies:

  • Cardstock – Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
  • Designer Series Paper – Newsprint
  • Stamps – Plane & Simple
  • Punches – Word Window, Modern Label, Circle punches, Spiral
  • Tools – Color Spritzer, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Cutter Kit (7-sided Distress Tool), Crop-a-Dile, Sponge Daubers, Distressing Essentials Kit (Tea Stain distress ink)

Next cardmaking class is on Thursday 7th July.. we’ll be using the gorgeous Baby Blossoms stamp set to make some pretty, feminine cards!
